Golden Pass Panoramic

Route: Lucerne - Interlaken Ost - Zweisimmen - Montreux

An attractive route, rich in tradition, from Central Switzerland to Lake Geneva. Starting in the historic Lucerne region, the journey takes you over the Brünig pass, past weathered timber houses with their flower-bedecked windows, to the world-famous holiday resort of Gstaad. From here you go over the Golden Pass before dropping down to the idyllic shores of Lake Geneva and their splendid vineyards.
For a special ride, why not take a seat at the front of the train and see the scenery from a different view (VIP seats are compulsory and have a special supplement.). Services run daily and frequently in both directions. Between Montreux and Zweisimmen (and vice versa), travelers can now enjoy the “Golden Pass Classic” with refurbished vintage Orient Express cars.

Bernina Express

Route: Chur/Davos/St. Moritz - Berninapass - Poschiavo - Tirano

The Rhaetian Railway's north Alpine route is a 145-km stretch that cuts through Graubünden, offering breathtaking views of the countryside as it travels across viaducts, through winding tunnels, past raging mountain torrents, glaciers and a rich array of Alpine flowers. During the trip over the Bernina pass, the train reaches an altitude of 2.253 m (7.390 ft) and masters gradients of 7%. From Tirano, the journey continues through the Valtellina valley to Lugano (only in summer). Passport or identity card required for border crossings. Reservation essential. The William Tell-Express provides a direct link between German-speaking central Switzerland and the Mediterranean flair of Ticino. The offer includes the journey by paddle steamer (First Class) on Lake Lucerne with a three-course lunch, rail travel in First-class panorama coaches, reserves seats on boat and train, detailed information about the journey and a William Tell-Express souvenir. Customers must have a valid 1st class ticket. It is possible for 2nd class holders to upgrade. Operates May to October.

Leaving from Montreux, on the Swiss Riviera, and passing through Gruyères and Broc, you’ll discover the country of the celebrated Gruyère cheese and traditional and delicious Swiss milk chocolate. Seat reservation compulsory. Program: Journey Montreux – Gruyères – Broc and back in first class: coffee and croissant served on the train from Montreux; admission into the cheese factory in Gruyères; admission into the Gruyères Castle; film presentation, mini-tour for visitors and chocolate tasting at the Cailler-Nestlé chocolate factory; service on board trough a hostess.
