Interlaken is the centre of the Berner Oberland, holding a prominent position among Europe's tourist resorts. The Jungfraujoch is one of the best-known and most spectacular mountains in the world. Luzern is ideally situated in the centre of Switzerland. It reflects the 'true' image of Switzerland, with its picturesque mountains, lakes, cowbells and alpine villages. Mount Pilatus is a mountain overlooking Lucerne in central Switzerland. It is composed of several summits of which the highest is named Tomlishorn. Zürich offers gentle hills, peaceful woods, unpolluted lakes and rivers, picturesque villages - and all this, just a stone's throw from the Alps.
Arrival in Interlaken by train 2nd class from the Swiss border or any Swiss airport. Overnight in Interlaken
Day at leisure. Take the opportunity and book an optional excursion to the Jungfraujoch – Top Of Europe – at 3454 m/11’333 ft the highest railway in Europe. We can recommend another breath-taking excursion to Schilthorn / Piz Gloria (3000 m/10’000 ft) with its unique revolving panorama restaurant and its thrilling James Bond 007 history. Today you take a lake Lucerne cruise from Lucerne to Alpnachstad, then up to the Pilatus Kulm 2132/7000 ft by the steepest cogwheel railway in the world (from app. mid April /May to November, during winter you take the bus from Lucerne to Kriens and further with a panoramic gondola from Kriens to Pilatus). Time at leisure. Overnight in Lucerne.
Train journey from Lucerne to Lugano. Experience the new Gotthard Base Tunnel - with its 57 kilometres it is the longest train tunnel in the world. It takes only 17 minutes to travel this fast flat-track route under the Alpine massif in the heart of Europe.
Day at leisure. A big variety of attractive excursion opportunities are waiting for you such as e.g. Swissminiatur in Melide. Overnight in lugano.
Take the train to Zurich. Day at leisure. Downtown Switzerland offers a range of things to do i.e. excellent shopping or just relax at the beautiful lakeside. Overnight in Zurich.
