Zermatt is car-free, idyllic village in the Matter Valley in the canton of Valais, nestles amongst fabulous scenery of mountains and glaciers. The journey from Zermatt up to the Gornergrat takes around 40 minutes winds its way up the mountain letting the Matterhorn appear ever larger and more magnificent. Interlaken is the centre of the Berner Oberland, holding a prominent position among Europe's tourist resorts. The Jungfraujoch is one of the best-known and most spectacular mountains in the world. Luzern is ideally situated in the centre of Switzerland. It reflects the 'true' image of Switzerland, with its picturesque mountains, lakes, cowbells and alpine villages. On Mount Titlis you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the snow-covered mountaintops of central Switzerland. Zürich offers gentle hills, peaceful woods, unpolluted lakes and rivers, picturesque villages - and all this, just a stone's throw from the Alps.
Departing from the airport railway station, you travel to Zermatt (approx. 3 hrs 38 minutes). This quiet Alpine resort lies at the foot of the Matterhorn. Zermatt is a car-free zone, so you can relax and enjoy the beauty of the majestic mountain. The only transport allowed are electric cars and horse-drawn sleighs. Check in at your hotel. The rest of the day you are free to explore the village on your own. Overnight stay at Zermatt.
In the morning, travel to Interlaken by train (approx. 2 hrs 15 minutes). Experience crystalclear lakes, sparkling streams and fantastic falls, caressed by the sunbeams. The towering trio of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau stands like stately sentinel over a world of eternal snow. Between these captivating contrasts, a treasure trove of holiday delights is waiting to be discovered. Here are just a few of many attractions, which never fail to fascinate visitors to this Swiss region. After having checked in at your hotel, the rest of the day is free to explore Interlaken on your own. Overnight stay at Interlaken.
After breakfast, you board the train to Kleine Scheidegg via Lauterbrunnen (approx. 1.5 hrs). The famous Jungfrau railway takes you to the highest station in Europe (approx. 1 hrs). A day of fun and excitement is awaiting you in the captivating snow peaks of Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe (3’454 m/11’333 ft). Visit the Ice Cave with its ice formations or else explore the snow on the glacier. You find a range of international restaurants on the Jungfraujoch. Return to Interlaken (approx. 2.5 hrs) by train with an optional stopover in Grindelwald. Overnight stay at Interlaken.
After breakfast, you are free to do whatever you like. For example take a walk through Interlaken, experience the shopping opportunities or enjoy a cruise on Lake Thun or Lake Brienz (not incl.). Later proceed to the station for your train connection to Luzern (approx. 2 hrs). Overnight stay at Luzern.
Today, travel by train to Engelberg (approx. 1 hrs), which is just an hour away. Experience the world’s first revolving cable car that takes (approx. 45 mins.) you to the top of Switzerland’s highest vantage point with a breathtaking 360 degree view. Spend some time in the snow with your snow disc. In the evening you return to Luzern (approx. 2 hrs). Overnight stay at Luzern.
Today you are free to explore Luzern on your own. Visit the 700 years-old wooden Chapel Bridge, the Lion Monument and discover Luzern’s malls. Buy some of the famous souvenirs like Swiss watches, Swiss cheese and Swiss chocolate. Proceed to Zürich by train (approx. 1 hrs). Overnight stay at Zürich/Geneva.
After breakfast, you either proceed to the airport for your onward flight or else continue your stay in Switzerland.
